Looking Good Houston!
Hope you are enjoying your Golf Course at the moment. The weather has been quite pleasant. We are really pleased of the condition of our Course considering it’s only the end of May. Click on the link to watch my latest Drone fly bye
We are very much into the busy cutting season now and also lots of Golf days and corporate Golf days. Working around all these Golf events trying to keep every surface at its best can be difficult and sometimes we have to do things at certain times for the good of the Course that make us not the most popular people ! I can assure you everything we do do is for the benefit of your Golf Course !
Over the last couple of weeks all surfaces have been granular ‘fed’ and watered in, which is why last weekend the ball was not running too far on fairways. These past few days all surfaces have also been lowered to ‘summer heights’ so all surfaces will start to roll a bit quicker and further
The exception to this will be the 4th Green.
I am very pleased to announce that the 4th will be back in play from today. Its come back really well, its not perfect but good enough to re-open. What you need to know is that we have not been able to carry out normal routine work whilst waiting for seed to germinate on the green. Please be aware it will putt slower than the rest of the greens
Giving you heads up on next weeks work, we will be starting to prepare for your Annual Club Championships on the 29th/30th June , which I hope you are all signing up for?. I also am very very proud to announce we have been asked to hold the Regional Qualifier of the John Deere World Championships. It’s a World Tournament held every few years with the winning top two teams going to the final in September which will be held this year at Gleneagles.
The work next week will involve the Greens getting a nice bit of air, a verti-cut, a feed, a roll and a topdress to smooth the surfaces out. Because of the corporate commitments this work will be carried out on Wednesday and Thursday and means that the greens maybe a little slower next weekend, but will be lovely and true. From then we start speeding things up bit by bit and taking the rest of the Course up another notch.
Finally by the end of next week we will have our new efficient Irrigation pumps working and controlling our new system. I hope you are all seeing the massive benefits its bringing to our Course
That’s it from me for now. Thank you for all your support
Enjoy your Course, Enjoy your Club. Remember………. It’s yours!
