WINTER WHEELS

DUE TO THE MONSOON WEATHER WE HAVE HAD OF RECENT WEEKS, COURSE MANAGER AND THE COURSE DIRECTOR HAVE NOW DECIDED THAT WINTER WHEELS ARE A MUST FOR THE GOLF COURSE.

Whilst normal, flat wheels are allowed on the paths and rough only, investing in Winter wheels will save you time and hopefully put less miles on your round

Benefits

Powakaddy Winter Wheels (Pair)
Non Clogging Open Tread Design

– Use your electric golf trolley in winter / wet conditions

– Unique patented* design fits most Powakaddy electric trolleys

– Minimal ground contact protects fairways and courses

– Non clogging open tread design

– Reduces tyre marks on the course

– Developed in association with green keepers and course managers

Motocaddy S Series Hedgehog Winter Wheels
Improved Traction During Wet Conditions

Transform your Motocaddy S Series into the perfect winter trolley by making it suitable to use even in the worst weather conditions.

The outer of the wheels feature the ‘Hedgehog’ design which helps to prevent the wheel of your trolley from skidding on the wet ground. These wheels should be suitable if your course allows them even during trolley bans.

– Easy to fit and remove.

The Pro Shop will be making a large order at the end of this week (25th October) or early part of next week. If you would like to purchase a pair of winter wheels please call the shop on 01708688333 or email jackwinergolf@gmail.com.

POWAKADDY – £70.00 / MOTOCADDY – £80.00

Abridge Senior Golf Report

Pleased to report that we have managed to complete the season with only one postponement, due to work undertaken on our greens. This has resulted in our home match against Stapleford Abbots being played on Monday 7th October.

We had a great day on 2nd October when we hosted our End of Year Tournament. All 24 participants threw themselves into the competitive spirit, making up teams of two. The format was better ball, with four nearest the pins on the par 3s and nearest the line on the 8th. The winners on the day were Menashy Cohen and Stan Brattman, with a splendid 43 points. We also gave a special prize to our ‘Hero of the Year’, who this year was Steve Golding for his continued availability for almost every match and outstanding enthusiasm.

Our annual match with the Ladies Section went ahead in July and as last year, was a huge success. It continues to be great working with Carol Gray and Mandi Barker and together we gave everybody a thoroughly enjoyable day.

We have continued to receive great support from the senior members and even when we are short of our twelve, it only takes a few phone calls and people rally round, and in some circumstances change their arrangements. We thank all concerned very much indeed for participating in the seniors matches.

Our form continues to be somewhat erratic, with some unlucky results as well as some positive results that caught us by surprise! We are starting to believe in ourselves and our expectations for 2020 are now sky high.

The dates for 2020 are in the diary and can be seen on Teamup. We will be sending, via email, the full list of fixtures to the senior members. If you would like to register your interest for specific matches in advance, please email Barry.

We would like to wish one of our lower handicap players, Geoff Jeffries, a continued recovery. We look forward to him re-joining our ranks in 2020.

As always, a big thank you to Stanley Brattman for organising the pairings and liaising with the opposition. Also to Stanley Lopata for looking after our treasury function and generally offering a helping hand.

Also, we wish Stan Brattman every success in his year as Captain and hope his Drive In on Sunday 6th October goes really well.
