Christmas update !
A festive morning to you all
This is the last update of 2025
We hope you all agree we have had a great 2025 regarding your Golf Course.
After a difficult first couple of months the Course has been in great condition throughout the record breaking very hot Summer and early Autumn.
Thanks to the tireless works by the Greenstaff and to having our own Water supply and the up to date Irrigation system we kept everything lovely and Green and surfaces in great condition!
IT'S BEEN A GREAT YEAR !
AND WE INTEND TO MAKE 2026 EVEN BETTER !
Autumn brought its own issues of disease caused by humid conditions but we are on top of this now and the greens have recovered well.
The wet weather has now firmly arrived and we will continue to protect your Course as per our Winter Policy.
The only issue we have with our Greens now are the constant lack of everyone repairing theirs or anyone else's pitch marks. Un-repaired pitch marks cause scaring and effect the trueness of your Greens. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE IF YOU SEE ANY PITCH MARKS REPAIR THEM!
Bunkers rebuilds have progressed well with 26 out of 38 now completed. I again remind you all that ALL the new Bunkers will need the sand topping up in the Spring.
Bunker rebuilds have now had to stop as its too wet presently so the remaining ones will be done in the Spring.
It does mean we have started our Tree/ Scrub work. The back of 7th Green / 8th Tee has been started and also making the 8th White/ Blue Tee bigger while we are working in that area
CLEARING THE SCRUB BEHIND 8TH TEES AND IMPROVING THE WHITE/BLUE TEE
We are already planning improvements for next year to your Course, including Tee improvements and are also excited to welcome the New Clutch Tour in 2026 to Abridge.
We will also be reintroducing our Video updates so look at for Perry Morgan and myself coming to a cinema near you soon !
I would personally like to take this opportunity to thank all of my team including Kevin and JP for there hard work and 100% commitment in the jobs they do !
I would like to thank all those members who are in the Development Fund for their continuing support it really does help us keep improving things.

Finally I would most importantly like to thank all Members for their support in what my staff, including Kevin and JP, do throughout the year. It's our pleasure to produce and present the Golf Course to you for your enjoyment !
